Ringing in the 50th year of the Fine Arts Foundation Debutante Ball season, the 2018 Debutante Announcement Reception was held at the historic Buell Mansion on Sunday, August 27, 2017. Parents, foundation members, and former Citizen of the Arts gathered to welcome the twenty-seven seniors from twelve different high schools. The impressive class of young women is comprised of talented scholars, athletes, artisans, community volunteers and peer leaders.
Notable accomplishments include multiple merit and honor awardees, an ACT perfect score recipient, a 1st place short story science fiction writer, a STEM fair winner, an accomplished thespian and cappella singer, a 4th Degree Kukkiwon Taekwondo Black Belt, a Philanthropy Hour Award recipient, and a St George’s Ascot Poetry winner.
The 2018 Debutantes are: Miss Haley Marie Aud, Miss Ansley Glenn Avis, Miss Katelyn Anne Barney, Miss Lillie Bridgitte Baxter, Miss Anna Elizabeth Bonner, Miss Sarah Rose Burkeholder, Miss Erin McKenzie Curley, Miss Alexandra Carmen Davis, Miss Jacqueline Marie Durnford, Miss Abigail Lauren Fisher, Miss Nicole Alexa Frederick, Miss Crosby Hanlon Gaeta, Miss Drew Kendall Granger, Miss Halle Simone Granger, Miss Jillian Suzannah Murphy, Miss Kathleen Shaw Neff, Miss Rachel Elizabeth Nufer, Miss Claire Ingram Rainey, Miss Maia Louise Rocklin, Miss Siena Patricia Rohan, Miss Julia Marie Joy Randolph, Miss Francesca Isabella Scheitler, Miss Camryn Slosky, Miss Allison Booth Smith, Miss Dailey Jordan Solomon, Miss Audrey Lynn State, and Miss Abigail Rose Stevens.
Also introduced at the reception were the 2018 Citizens of the Arts, Carol and Robert Slosky. The couple will be honored at the Citizen of The Arts Jubilee on February 1, 2018. In addition to their incredible support of Colorado artisans, the Slosky’s are the grandparents of 2018 Debutante, Miss Camryn Slosky.
The Debutante Ball will be held at the University of Denver on the evening of Saturday, June 16, 2018.
